(AD/INVITE) I’m really optimistic about Ambassador Cruise Line. Recently, I was fortunate enough to be invited to stay overnight on their latest ship, Ambition for her Gala Launch Event.
Ambition’s God mother is Shirley Robertson OBE DL, a well-known British sailor and Olympic gold medalist. It was an honor to witness her christen Ambition at this very special and memorable re-naming ceremony.
After the ceremony and a taste of one of the ship’s incredible theatre productions, I indulged in a sumptuous dinner comprising of eight courses, and later spent the night dancing with many guests till the early hours.
During my time on board, I had the pleasure of chatting with a variety of people, ranging from the CEO, Christian Verhounig, at a cocktail party to the cabin stewards who were taking care of the beautifully decorated cabins, as well as the waiters who served me delicious meals. Everyone was so friendly!
The experience was unforgettable, both during the day and throughout the night.
Having sailed with various mainstream Cruise Lines such as Cunard, P&O, MSC, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Virgin Voyages, and Marella, I believe that Ambassador is going to make a big impact on the UK market and bring joy to many. With their “premium-value” motto, they offer an intimate cruising experience on smaller refurbished ships, boasting delectable cuisine and entertainment without the need for extravagant amenities. It’s a warm and friendly atmosphere that caters to those who appreciate traditional cruising.
I’m impressed with the number of solo cabins on board, which come at a reasonable solo supplement. As a solo cruise host for Passion for Cruises, solo travel is important to me, and I can see how the growing solo community would benefit from this.
At present, Ambassador Cruise Line boasts a fleet of two ships. The first, AMBIENCE, can accommodate up to 1,400 guests in 798 cabins, with a crew to guest ratio of 2.15, and a gross tonnage of 70,285grt. The second, AMBITION, has 679 cabins and can accommodate up to 1,200 guests, with a crew to guest ratio of 2.55, and a gross tonnage of 48,123grt.
